PRIVACY POLICY
Data Compliance & Security
At Excelized, data protection, confidentiality and responsible handling of business information are central to every project. Whether working with Excel files, Power BI reports, Power Query transformations or Power Automate workflows, client data is treated with care and used only for the agreed purpose.
1. Confidential handling of client data
During consulting, training or project work, Excelized may receive access to sample files, business reports, dashboards, data models, process descriptions or other project-related information.
All provided information is handled confidentially and is not shared with third parties unless this is required for the agreed service or explicitly approved by the client.
Whenever possible, anonymized or sample data should be used instead of sensitive production data.
2. Purpose-limited data use
Client data is used only to deliver the requested service, such as:
-
building or improving Excel workbooks
-
creating Power BI reports and dashboards
-
preparing Power Query transformations
-
developing Power Automate workflows
-
troubleshooting reporting or data issues
-
preparing training material or documentation
Excelized does not sell, rent or commercially reuse client data.
3. Access and permissions
Access to client systems, files or reports should follow the principle of least privilege. This means that only the access required for the specific task should be granted.
Where possible, access should be temporary and removed after the project or support activity has been completed.
For Power BI, Microsoft 365, SharePoint or similar environments, permissions remain under the control of the client.
4. Data storage and transfer
Project files may be exchanged through commonly used business platforms such as email, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, OneDrive or other agreed channels.
Clients are encouraged to avoid sending unnecessary personal, confidential or sensitive information. If sensitive data is required for a project, appropriate safeguards should be discussed in advance.
Excelized aims to keep project-related data only as long as necessary for the agreed service, documentation, support or legal obligations.
5. Power BI, Excel and automation projects
In reporting and automation projects, special attention is given to:
-
clean and transparent data transformations
-
documented business logic
-
appropriate access concepts
-
row-level security where required
-
avoidance of unnecessary personal data
-
clear separation between test data and production data
-
maintainable report and workflow structures
The goal is to create practical solutions that are not only functional, but also understandable, maintainable and responsible from a data handling perspective.
6. Use of third-party platforms
Excelized may work with tools and platforms such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate, SharePoint, OneDrive, Wix or other business software depending on the project.
The data protection and security settings of these platforms are usually controlled by the respective provider and/or the client’s own organization. Clients should ensure that their internal IT, compliance and data protection requirements are followed when granting access or sharing files.
7. Training and demo data
Training materials, templates and examples are normally created using fictional, anonymized or publicly available sample data.
Real client data is not used in public examples, blog posts, screenshots, courses or templates unless the client has clearly approved this in advance.
8. Responsibility of the client
Clients remain responsible for the legality, accuracy and permissions of the data they provide. This includes ensuring that data may be shared for the requested project, support or training purpose.
Excelized can support with practical data handling concepts, but does not replace legal, compliance or data protection advice from a qualified professional.
9. Questions about data handling

10. Returns and Right of Withdrawal (Germany)
Consumers in Germany generally have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days without giving a reason. For digital content that is not supplied on a physical data carrier, the withdrawal period normally begins when the contract is concluded. To meet the deadline, it is sufficient to send a clear statement of withdrawal before the 14-day period expires.
Requesting a withdrawal. A withdrawal request may be submitted by email to info@excelized.de. Please include the customer name, the email address used for the purchase, the order number and the name of the relevant product so that the request can be identified and processed efficiently. A particular form is not required, but the statement must clearly communicate the decision to withdraw from the contract.
Digital downloads and early performance. The products currently offered through the Excelized store are digital downloads. Digital content is normally made available shortly after successful payment. Where a consumer expressly agrees that delivery may begin before the end of the 14-day withdrawal period, confirms their knowledge that the right of withdrawal is lost when delivery begins, and receives the legally required confirmation, the statutory right of withdrawal expires once performance has begun. Where those legal requirements have not been satisfied, the consumer's statutory rights remain unaffected.
Return costs. Because Excelized products are delivered digitally, there is no physical product to package or send back. No return label is required and the direct cost of returning a product is EUR 0; physical return shipping is not applicable. Following a valid withdrawal, the customer must stop using the digital content and must not make it available to third parties.
Refunds. Where a withdrawal is valid, Excelized will reimburse the payments received for the affected order without undue delay and no later than 14 days after receiving the withdrawal notice. Unless another method is expressly agreed, the reimbursement will be made using the same payment method that was used for the original transaction. The customer will not be charged a fee for the reimbursement. If delivery of digital content began after the customer provided the legally required express consent and acknowledgement, a refund is not due solely because the customer changed their mind after delivery began and the withdrawal right validly expired. This does not restrict any mandatory rights relating to defective or non-conforming digital products.
Defective, incorrect or inaccessible downloads. If a purchased file is damaged, inaccessible, materially different from its description, supplied incorrectly or cannot be downloaded, please contact info@excelized.de with the order details and a short description of the issue. Excelized will review the matter and, depending on the circumstances and applicable law, provide a corrected or replacement file, technical assistance, a price reduction or a refund.
Business customers. The statutory right of withdrawal described above applies to consumers (Verbraucher) within the meaning of section 13 of the German Civil Code. It does not generally apply to entrepreneurs or business customers (Unternehmer) acting in the course of their commercial or self-employed professional activity within the meaning of section 14 of the German Civil Code, unless a separate contractual right has been agreed.
Nothing in this return policy excludes or limits mandatory consumer rights, statutory warranty rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived under German or European Union law. For questions concerning a return, withdrawal or refund, please contact Excelized at info@excelized.de.
